Why this is the Best Paleo Brownie Recipe
You can find brownie recipes all over the internet, but as far as a brownie recipe that is paleo, gluten-free, and delicious? You can stop the search.
These brownies achieve everything you love about brownies, but swap out traditional white flour with almond flour, and white and brown sugar for coconut sugar for the perfect dessert. They're:
- Gooey. Not dry and crumbly like many low-carb, healthy dessert recipes, you'll get the gooey, fudgy texture you've been craving.
- Comforting. There's something about brownies that screams comfort food, and this recipe is no exception.
- Chocolatey. With cocoa and sugar-free chocolate chips, these brownies are decadently packed full of chocolate.
- Satiating. The fats from quality butter and FBOMB's proprietary house-blend premium oil will leave you feeling satisfied for hours.

How to Make Paleo Brownies
Paleo-friendly brownies have to be free of all non-paleo ingredients, which can be a tall order. We've cracked the code, however, and use only the following in this recipe:
- Eggs
- Butter or ghee
- Vanilla extract
- Coconut sugar
- Almond flour
- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- Kosher salt
- Baking soda
- Sugar-free chocolate chips (optional)
Powdered sugar is preferable to granulated in this recipe, but you can make it work with the granulated, especially if you pulse it for a minute in a blender.
The FBOMB House Blend oil adds a nice addition to the flavor and consistency of the finished product.
How to use Substitutes for this Paleo Brownie Recipe
Depending on what you have in your pantry, you can swap out quite a lot in this recipe.
Technically, butter is not paleo unless it's clarified, and then it's called ghee. However, many paleo-dieters still eat butter, because it has lower levels of lactose and there's debate about whether butter truly is "dairy."
Regardless, if you don't want butter in your brownies, feel free to swap it out for coconut oil or use a nut butter, like almond butter... or, even better, FBOMB's Macadamia Nut Butter.
This recipe uses almond flour, but you can substitute coconut flour, or another nut flour.
The paleo diet doesn't allow things like baking powder or sugar alcohols, but if you aren't following a strict paleo diet, you can swap the 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda with 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. You may want to adjust by adding a crack of extra salt if you do so.
If you prefer a sweeter brownie or eat a keto diet rather than paleo, swap the 1/2 cup of coconut sugar with 2/3 cup of powdered erythritol (like KetoLogic), stevia, or monk fruit sweetener.
The sugar-free chocolate chips are optional, though they do add an extra delicious layer of chocolate. If you want to make this paleo, choose sugar-free chocolate chips that are dairy-free as well.
